Gwenn Glotnis
In 1972-- I worked out a few times a week with Peter Paulos, owner of
Peter Tat2 (New York/ Denver) at Harold’s gym in Denver Colorado.
I received some tattoo work from peter and his artist Flip from 1972 to 1979,
that was it. Tattoo, in some form, has been a part of my life since.
Jack D’Amore, owner of Art with a Pulse in Colorado Springs, was gracious
enough to let me hang around and learn some essentials of the industry.
I learned to make needles (a thing of the past it seems!); Answered the phone,
mixed colors, set up and broke down, and learned the very general basics of tattoo,
sterilization and the business. I helped them out two days a week for a little over a year.
1990-- My friend Dan Gilsdorf of Atlas Tattoo in Portland was extending my
back piece, and asked when I was going to start tattooing. About a year
and ½ after tenaciously seeking a special person to apprentice me, I was
fortunate enough to do a semi-formal apprenticeship with my friend and
mentor Greg James at Sunset Strip Tattoo in West Hollywood. The rest is
pretty much history. I’ve always loved the old teachings and style of
tattoo. The history and significance of this crazy art we are involved in has
always interested me. My own motto is certainly consistency. Put on a
tight tattoo, solid lines, good bright color, and great subject matter, and
tattoo will take care of you.

2000-- We opened Accent Tattoo & Piercing Studio inc. in Ukiah, California .
